Blacksnake - face study

J'avais commencé cette série de dessin avec Lash, le héros de cette histoire, il était donc normal que je termine avec son principal ennemi, Blacksnake.
Dans sa première version, malgré sa couleur de peau, je trouve que ce personnage n'avait pas vraiment l'air d'un noir. J'ai donc essayé de retravailler les traits de son visage dans ce sens, en essayant cependant de ne pas tomber dans la caricature. Je ne suis pas encore vraiment satisfait du résultat, mais c'est déjà mieux qu'avant. Dans la bande-dessinée que je suis en train de développer avec ces personnages, Blacksnake a autant d'importance que Lash, et s'ils sont opposés dans l'histoire, il n'est pas forcément complètement mauvais non plus. L'une des raisons qui m'a poussé à faire de mon premier travail une BD est justement d'avoir une plus grande possibilité d'étendre et de définir le caractère de mes personnages.
Je tiens aussi à préciser que si le personnage de Blacksnake est plutôt du côté des mauvais dans l'histoire, et qu'il est noir, il n'y a vraiment aucun message ou sous-entendu raciste là dedans. J'ai choisi de faire du principal rival du héros un noir-américain, parce qu'il aurait une situation de force sur Lash et qu'il ne se gênerait pas pour montrer sa supériorité et dominer le héros, dans tous les sens que cela implique.
et les films pornos dans lesquels un petit blanc se fait copieusement défoncer par un noir (ou plusieurs) ne manquent pas, et c'est aussi un peu cette idée que j'avais en tête quand j'ai imaginé ce personnage et cette histoire.

I had begun this series of drawing with Lash, the hero of this story, it was thus normal that I end with his main enemy, Blacksnake.
In his first version, in spite of its skin colour, I found this character didn't really look like a black guy. So I tried to work again on the lines of his face in this way, but by trying however not doing a caricature of him. I'm still not really satisfied by the result, but it nevertheless looks better than before. In the comic which I am developing with these characters, Blacksnake has as much importance as Lash, and if they are opposites in this story, he is not necessarily completely bad either. One of the reasons which brought me to make of my first work a comic is exactly to have a bigger possibility of widening and of defining the character of my the different guys...
I really want to specify that if the character of Blacksnake is almost the one of a bad guy, and than he is black, there is really no racist message or allusion there. I chose to make of the main rival of the hero an Afro-American, because he will have a situation of strength on Lash and because he will not be ashamed of showing his superiority and dominating the hero, whatever it involves...
And porn-movies in which a poor white guy is roughly fucked by a black man(or several black men) don't miss, and it's one of the ideas I had in mind when I imagined this character and this story.
